BEER lovers

O-HIOOOOO! :D

This thread is for Beer lovers around the world! I been dying to try a Samuel Adams beer before BUT I was still stack with my old day to day beer-- Rolling rock pale, and pretty much beer that don't kick much (pale)

On Saturday I decided to try the SA Octoberfest http://i1137.photobucket.com/albums/...ctoberfest.jpg pics from the 'net

Oh, boy I'm glad I did.. This is very smooth, nicely balanced, good aroma Beer! This actually reminds me of a beer from the Phillipines -- SAN MIGUEL BEER.. That beer can be purchased if you are in ASIA or in Europe.. I don't see it here in the US..

Anyone wants to add/share what kind of Beer do you love?

Keep 'em coming, I'll try it..

CAUTION: The Samuel Adams Octoberfest BEER, just after I had 2 bottles-- I feel like I was really bloated.. not good for someone who wants to consume 2-5 a night.. (not me :D)

I like ... Coopers Vintage Ale.

http://bythepint.com/sites/default/f...le.preview.jpg

This beer is made in a South Australian brewery in limited numbers. It is meant to be cellared like a wine. As you can see from the photo (see the particles hanging around the beer?) the beer is brewed in the bottle. Give it enough time and the yeast particles dissolve and make the beer so much more complex. A young Coopers Vintage is aromatic and yeasty and smells of freshly baked bread. I have a few beers from 2000 which I tasted recently - the most mellow beer I have ever tasted! This beer is pretty filling, one bottle and you feel full.

Have to admit I can't stand VB but i'm sure you Americans would be tickled pink by this ad :)

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA1h9h7-_Z4]VB Victoria Bitter (Australian ad) 1988 - YouTube[/ame]

Recently they changed their recipe and replaced the byline "For a hard earned thirst you need a big cold beer, and the best cold beer is Vic. Vic Bitter" with "Vic Bitter - the drinking beer". They are trying to lose the working class association and move it upmarket.

Before the recipe change, the beer was more of a lager and was only slightly bitter. It was certainly easy to drink, and had more character than some of the carbonated beer flavoured cordial found on American shelves (e.g. Heineken and Coors). The newer recipe is actually not bad, but with so many excellent beers on our shelves there's no reason to drink it.

Oh, and here's another nice ad ... this time for Carlton Draught :)

When I get home I can wait to have some Clownshoes Brewery Tramp stamp

Laugh all you want for the name, the beer is excellent! Beeradvocate review

It's a Massachusetts local micro brew.

It's been awhile since I last had a Centennial IPA or a Founders brew, but they make some awesome brews for sure. KBS is one of my favorites from them. For the price Lagunitas cannot be beat.

Cheers!

Since it is starting to get colder outside these days a nice Porter can do wonders to warm you up. A couple of sips from these smooth, smoky, chocolatey, beers will put a smile on your face.

JGM411 09-25-2012 01:56 PM

oh yea, that porter is also really good.....!!!!

the local store owner who sells craft beer is encouraging me to try Founders breakfast stout. the name doesn't sound appetizing, however, i probably would like it.

Just finished our keg of Spaten Oktoberfest; now on Kona Big Wave Golden Ale.

Just got back from Maui and was drinking that quite a bit; extremely tasty, non-bitter ale.

I enjoy IPAs in the summer and while enjoying quite a few different and new beers I came across, one that really stood out of the crowd was the Maine Lunch IPA. wow....

My taste in beers is varied.

I like mostly pale beers and ales.

Stella Artois, Heineken, Lowenbrau, Budweiser, Michelob, Chimay, Duvel.

To me, none is the best and none is terrible. There are simply ones that I like.

slowGEEZR 09-25-2012 05:13 PM

I'm a stout, IPA, ale man, but like most beers of any style. Some of my favorites are: Anchor's Liberty Ale, Tupper's Hop Pocket and almost any good English or Belgian Ale. Least favorite? Possibly Fosters - yuck.

RoadDawgWest 09-25-2012 05:24 PM

If you like dark belgian ales then I recommend Brother Thelonious from North Coast brewery.

My overall favorite beer (especially on tap) is Terminal Gravity IPA:

My latest discovery is Copper Cone Pale Ale from Epic Brewing:

One of my other favorites is Dead Guy Ale from Rogue Brewing:

I love both of those. Hawaiian beer is great. I just got a case of spaten Octoberfest at Costco. Anyone try mr. Beer home brewing kit? I must be on my 20th brew. Their recipes are great and way to make. 90 percent of what I've brewed blows away commercial brews. Check out their website. Www.mrbeer.com

dhizzle 09-26-2012 02:45 AM

I just recently tried the Stone Smoked Porter with Vanilla Beans. It is very good. Smokey with a slight hint of the Vanilla. Go figure.
One of my all time favorites is Trappist Rochefort #10 and Celebrator/Salvator. The Trappist ales have a very interesting background. I've heard a lot of great things about trappist westvleteren 12 and Pliny the Younger.

Just popped the cap off a nice Saison Dupont to start the weekend...:beerchug:

Many of the Supermarkets here have many craft beers. Otherwise try looking for specialty liquor/beer stores. I've got to believe there are plenty of places in Cleveland to visit. You guys have a nice little brewery there by the name of "Great Lakes Brewing Co."

Wasatch 09-28-2012 06:15 PM

Yup, Great Lakes some pretty tasty brews.

Cheers!

banswee 09-28-2012 09:45 PM

yeah, I heard that too. I ask my co-worker about it and he said it's OK plus he's into other brand. I took it as-- NOT a good product and I haven't tried it. :)
