Canton's Drivers?
Does Canton manufacture their drivers 'in-house', ala Focal and Dynaudio, or do they use SEAS or other drivers 'customized' to their needs?

From the Canton website:
"We develop and manufacture the loudspeaker systems of our Reference K Series in our own workshops. This is the only way we can satisfy the quality standards required, eliminate fault tolerances and achieve the high sound perfection of our premium products." Guess I'll order a set of the Ref 9K and give them a listen. |
They got like a 97-98% rating on a scale of a 100 from a couple of the German magazines. Looks like a great speaker and should with the smaller size deliver quicker than the large models.

Ivan informed me earlier today that the color (black) speakers & stands are in NA, so delivery should be some time next week.

Thanks. Went back & forth on smaller floorstanders (Aerial 6T, Canton 7K, etc.), but the integrated stands of the Ref 9K look good. Plus, every time I get a pair of floorstanding speakers I'm back to monitors within several months.

likehifi.de gave the 9K a 96% overall and the 3K a 95% overall. Looking for good things (sonics & finish).

Well packaged. Plenty of extra room where that hole in the box did not strike the speaker.
Installed and singing sweetly. Right from the start they have more bass than their predecessors. Will let them play on FM classical/jazz without any serious listening until tomorrow. Stands were easy to assemble. Will eventually fill the larger tube with lead shot and install the spikes. Beautiful fit & finish. Time to 'dress' my cabling and install the new rack (been putting it off for 2yr ;)). https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...1&d=1517512102 https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...1&d=1517512328 https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...1&d=1517512102 |
