Aerial 7T vs Dali Epicon 6

I am looking to do what maybe a slight upgrade in speakers. I have a small room sort of crowded and no room to place away from the walls. I have a ton of treatments and I think at present I have a nice sound. Currently Focal 1028 with Bel Canto ref600 monos, 80% of the time using Tidal HiFi. No vinyl. I haven't heard either the 7T or the Epicon 6 but I thought I'd like to try them (used). The other speaker I have an interest in is KEF Ref 3. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Gary

The 7T is a heckuva speaker, but it's ported in the rear, which means you'll want at least a couple of feet from the rear of the 7T's cabinet to the back wall.

I've owned the Epicon 6's and have a lot of good memories from it.
The Dali sound is quite different from Focal though, more laid back.

I have Sopra 2's today, so I went the other way around.

The Walnut gloss finish on the Epicons is simply stunning as well IMO.

No experience with The Aerials, but they got good press.
They play lower than the Epicons, but I would personally put a subwoofer on either anyway.

Thanks for the info.

My Focal 1028's are ported in the rear also, however I use the foam plugs. I have considered the Sopra 2's as I heard them twice at audio shows and they were very good. Once they were paired with a Micromega Int amp streaming from the net. I'm not sure about this but I have a feeling that they will sound like my 1028's and I guess I'm looking for a slightly different sound; for no other reason than just something different but articulate.

I am not interested in a sub. I'm looking for separation, sound stage with very accurate mids and highs. Bass needs to be there but defined and not over powering.

Music is mostly guitar, female voices, old rock and roll, some smooth jazz, new country. A couple of fav's; Rolling Stones, Wild Horses and John Mayer's Gravitiy.

If you're looking for musicality, neutral sound, sound staging and dynamics look no farther than the Aerials. I have mine out 18inches from back wall and no bloating or problems with bass. That being said I have a fairly large room. I looked at Focal,Wilson,BW, etc. Fell in love with the 7Ts. YMMV
