Wonderful review.....Really?
You have to have an easy load to make the amps sound good?
The M28 can't drive a 2 ohm load......its all show and little go.........

They look like fat Mark Levinson amps to me.

What speaker would you be driving that drops beneath 2 ohms?
95% of the speakers I am familiar with don't drop to below 2.5 ohms...most are above 3 ohms.
I guess it would depend on ones opinion of an "easy load"
What did you hear them driving that you didn't feel they made the grade?

Dan - They probably are in a lot of ways.......these are some of the guys that came from Madrigal Labs so I'm sure there's plenty of Levinson DNA in them, at least looks wise. Here's a link to the Stereophile review from back in May......really didn't sound like Fremer was totally enthused.

Buck - After Fremer's less than favorable impressions, John Atkinson did a follow-up review of the Bricasti amps since he was very impressed with their measurements. He found much to like about their sound and they are now rated in Stereophile's Class A recommended components. I have heard them sound superb at several shows. So to each their own, we all have different priorities and preferences.

With all due respect, the M28 IS rated to drive a 2 ohm load. Check out their specifications page on their website. They double down from 200 wpc into 8 ohms to 400 wpc into 4 ohms and 800 wpc into 2 ohms. Low

I actually compared the M28 to Jeff Rowland 725 S2 mono-amps, Parasound JC5, Absolare mono-amps,
McIntosh and a Esoteric amplifier driving Raidho C3.1 speakers. The M28s were the least preferred with an overall dark sound the lacked detail across the audio spectrum, including lacking bass articulation.

Out of interest, which did you prefer the most?
