What electric receptacles/power outlets?

I'll have an electrician coming to put in a floor outlet for my HT recliners. I'm reading about power and I think I'd want the outlets for my system upgraded too. What differences can I expect, and what's some of the forum favorites?

PS Audio makes a nice outlet. It is less costly than some.

I also use PS Audio outlets

I use Shunyata outlets. I have not compared it to others but there are some fairly spendy outlets available if you have the means.

I would really recommend using Shunyata SR-Z1 receptacles. I installed one of these for my main system and it made discernible improvement in sound quality, but it needs a day to burn in. I also have a Synergistics Research "red' outlet and it did virtually nothing to improve the sound quality. So my advice would be: get the Shunyata ones....

while the SR-Z1 is a superb outlet ($95), comparing it to a garden variety $2 piece from Home Depot is all but pointless !

There are plenty of fine outlets with superb clamping force available for much...much less. Leviton, for example.

I think it's quite relevant when Mouse specifically requested information on recommendations for power receptacles based on folks' experiences. Implicit in that question is that he didn't want to use a garden varieity $2 receptable from Home Depot.

And, that's all that what was provided by the gang here with the PS Audio and Shunyata recommendations.

For some folks, that might be a PS Audio, for others a Leviton or Hubbel, for some it could be a Shunyata. Mouse can evaluate this information based on folks' experiences to make some informed decisions and decide which products provide a value proposition for him.

Yes, those look really nice. Interesting using the nano-crystal technology to damp vibrations, and attenuates static electricity, etc. Pretty cool design.

Those are certainly pretty.
Black or charcoal grey is a huge bonus for aesthetic reasons.
