What's up gang? Been on an upgrade binge this year. My system has completely changed with a few exceptions like the Wilson Sashas and the Lamm M1.2 monos. And as things go, I was also planning to upgrade the Sashas to Gen 2 or to the Alexias. I decided to upgrade everything around the Sashas. What I discovered was nothing short of an epiphany. I hadn't really given the Sashas a chance to shine. With the addition of the Lamm L2 preamp, the Meitner MA-1 Dac, the Transparent Audio PowerIsolator MMs and the PowerIsolator 8, and the Meridian Sooloos Ensemble, the Sashas have become new speakers in my room. Sasha, I owe you an apology. And with the impending recal of the Transparent Audio Ref XLMM2 ICs and Spkr cable, I'm persuaded that Sasha will transform yet again. I wonder just how many times I've upgraded components that just never really got a chance to shine. So, for now, I'm keeping my Sashas.

I've had the same experience with my Sophias. :)

i have the sasha2 and i'm very happy. speakers in this liga are great for a superb high end system_> upgrade from a sasha to shasa2 or alexia (read too upgrade speaker with same brand with the modell more on the edge..) is not always the top solution. Meitner Ma1 is amazing. Transparen cables (with the big box in the middle) give your improvement.. (well my idea of speaker cable is without extra voodo box: you need this extra box to have a great sound? imho at the beginning somewhere ??? dont work correct) -> well trasparent work very fine....personal taste.... I use the sasha2: what is the better "feet" for wilson? Finite elemente, hamonix ???? plaese your thought and modell to buy... thank you Harmonix |
Congratulations! I've had a similar experience with my Sashas. But for me all it took was changing my cartridge to an Air Tight PC1. This was a significant upgrade and has created a whole new system for me. It taught me the importance of getting the source right first...only then does it make sense to evaluate or change anything else.
I agree with you that it makes one wonder how much money gets wasted on speaker upgrades before the capabilities of current speakers are fully maximized. |
