Canon Finally Kills Film
Today it was announced that Canon has stopped selling the EOS 1V their last film camera. Canon stopped producing the units in 2010 and have filled orders out of this stock. Canon will continue to service these units that originally went on sale in 2000 until the year 2025.

Not surprising. As an EP at a major ad agency, I haven't hired a motion picture or still photographer who has used film in the last 7 or 8 years.

I saw the article today. Truthfully, I didn't think Canon still made a film camera!
I still have my Canon A2. I don't know why but lately I've been contemplating buying some B/W film and putting some rolls through the body. Kind of makes me long for my old darkroom days..... |
Would not be surprised to see the mechanical film cameras become much more collectible in the future. The human mind is so predictable. :D The phases are always the same with just about any object. :smoking:
