Expensive power cord on inexpensive Oppo 103
 

I know my audio obsession has gotten out of hand. I just put a $800 power cord on a $500 Oppo 103. I just use the Oppo for streaming Tidal and Pandora. For me it made a big improvement. I am also putting a $600 COAX cable on the Oppo to go into my K-03 DAC. I must admit that this is crazy.

Is this a passive aggressive way to get the inmates at the asylum to deny that you are crazy? We're all sane! :scratch2:

Sane could be left open to interpretation and perhaps is relative? If so, then by comparison, you are as sane as a judge around here.

I wonder how thick the cord is. It may well be overkill if it's heavier than 12AWG. But apart from the cost, don't forget the optics. Does it look out of place?

It is 9AWG, like a garden hose hanging off the back of the Oppo. I only use a cheepo HDMI cable to a small monitor to see what is playing on Pandora and don't use anything but a iPad for controlling and seeing what is playing with Tidal. Only looks out of place from the rear with the other rats nest of cables.
