Giscours Tube Question

Quick question for Giscours owners.

I need to replace my GE 6072 phone tubes.

There are quite a few NOS 6072"A" tubes out there.

I believe the "A" has something to do with the warm-up protocol.

Can you tell me if it is OK to use a 6072 and 6072 "A" in the same circuit?

Also, is it OK to use 2 of the 6072"A" tubes in the Giscours phono circuit?

Thank you for the advice!

6072A is a low noise 12ay7, early RCA Blackplates would be a good susititute or the far harder to find military Raytheon 6072 in coffin boxes...
Good Luck.

Hi JPrest,

Thanks for getting back to me. I'll keep an eye out for the Raytheon tubes.

Any reason what I cannot use a 6072 and 6072A (at the same time) in my phono section?

Thanks again,

No the noise floor difference is not that great, it's more that the "a's" were individvally tested to assure they meet spec
