I like the gear, not sure about the speaker. How did they sound?

I've seen quite a few c50's. Any thoughts as to why Ivan? Seems to be quite a popular preamp.

At shows like these it is common to see some popular components show up in a number of different systems.

Correct!

I was underwhelmed by the Blades, but maybe my expectations were too high. I thought the new Sony speakers (unnamed, but below the AR-2s) were remarkably good, with Pass amplification (not sure about the pre-amp).

And the Blades were in a huge room with unfamiliar gear to me.

Blades underwhelmed. Maybe it was the room.

I heard from a number of folks the Blades were underwhelming...

Rtan 10-14-2012 02:09 PM

Are they made in China now too?

No.... if i recall they are made in the UK like the Kef Ref 207/2's

Heard the blades multiple times and always underwhelmed.

The entire current KEF Reference series is handcrafted in the United Kingdom.

I've heard the Blades in three rooms, with different gear and the bass has been boomy, and not very good every time. I'd like to hear them in a proper room and see how they sound.

Ditto. Just seemed to play loud with little finesse.

I never had good feeling with Blade's... Last time, a week ago, Kef were matched with a full Accuphase system (C3800 & A65 couple & 910 drive and dac), and result wasnt good as expected!
