Synergistic Research BLUE Quantum Fuse....WOW

For years I’ve been reading positive things about after market boutique fuses. Last week I finally took the plunge and ordered just one Synergistic Research BLUE Quantum fuse for my PS Audio BHK preamp since it only has 1 fuse.

All I can is HOLY CRAP! Like I said I’ve been reading positive reviews for years but I was not prepared for what I heard. C’mon it’s just a fuse. Anyway The soundstage was wider, had more depth and more height. Voices were more realistic and depending on the recording It was like they are in the room. Everything just seems better and this with only one fuse upgrade.

I plan to do the same with my BHK 300 mono blocks but at $150 a fuse and each amp has 6 fuses I’ll start with the”Mains” fuses as there are only 2 per amp. There are 4 “Rail” fuses per amp but that will come at a later date depending how the fuses for the “Mains” go.

So the big question is......has anyone else have the same experience with after market fuses and what was the fuse and the component you replaced the fuse?

Synergistic Research BLUE Quantum Fuse....WOW

OMG yes! Although I’m not a fan of SR fuses (they tend to blow prematurely at least those I tried and used up to and incl the Black) my personal journey has taken me to Audio Magic Ultimate SHD beeswax fuses which are the most natural musical fuses I’ve ever tried. Recently I replaced the four rail fuses in my tube amp and that has been by far the largest improvement ever.
I have 9 in the system
Now and they’ve proven themselves time and again.
FWIW there are as many flavors of fuses on the market like you Blue Quantum and the AM line to satisfy everyone’s personal tastes and system.

Enjoy your SR Fuse! [emoji106][emoji106]

Thanks so much. I do see lots of positive reviews on the Audio Magic Ultimate SHD beeswax fuses. Replacing all the fuses will come to a small fortune. I might but one to try in my BHK preamp to compare with the SR blue.

If you do you’ve got to give them a min 125 hrs burn in. In between it’s a lot of fun. Sort of like the early Shunyata cable burn in roller coaster. Once they are settled oh so wonderful. Pricey yes. I’ve upgraded them one at a time over time except the four inside the amp. Six on the amp alone. But transformed it sonically.

Richard.......Here's my review of the HiFi Tuning Fuses Installed that I posted February 2012. I am considering installing the HiFi Supreme Fuse in my two new MC75 mono tube power amps in the living room system. I have been satisfied with their performance and longevity.

Just noticed Synergistic just released the "Orange" fuse, replacing the Blue... Orange is the new Blue as they say..

You have 30 days from the time of purchase to return it, no questions asked. I would do that if still within the 30 days period.

A couple years ago I purchased a Blue for my Resolution Audio Cantata. The results were well worth the money. Staging, clarity, and bass resolution were all improved. I will be ordering a pair of Orange for my Aurender.
