How To Get Rid of Junk Mail?
 

I suspect there are many of you out there who HATE the massive amount of junk mail received in your mail box as much as I do. Anyone know the best way to end this madness! I just moved, so I figured now might be a good time to try and prevent the onslaught of BS mail I'm surely to start receiving.

I get very little junk mail, maybe one every couple of weeks. I am not sure whether these three actions actually help at all but here they are: 1) I do not download mail to our laptops. I leave them on the Comcast server and read, file or delete them there. 2) I do not maintain a contact list in Comcast's mail program 3) I use three different e-mail addresses and I select which one to use depending on the site or individual asking for it.

Maybe I am lucky but if you are talking about junk email, I have found that Yahoo has a great filter. I get less than 10 junk emails a week.

I would like to stop the unwanted solicitations/coupons that show up in my USPS mailbox! I simply drop them directly in the garbage can without even bringing them in the house.

I never ever had junk mail, and I am winning millions every day!! :banana:

Glenn, I believe you are referring to physical mail, is that correct?

Junk physical mail -- I opted out via the 3 major credit bureaus -- yes, they are the ones you opt out of in receiving CC, mortgage and other BS mail -- of course, they can't stop the fast food restaurant ads, DirecTV & mattress ads, and legal envelope of garage door, window and business flyers which come weekly.

It's place to start though.

That’s what I thought as well. The sources I referenced are related to physical mail.

All of my physical mail goes to a Post Office box. When I pick up the mail, I sort the junk mail straight into the recycling bin at the Post Office.

Thanks for all of your recommendations! Yes, I was referring to physical mail (but good advice on junk email too). Besides being a PITA getting all of the junk physical mail, it's just such a waste. I don't look at any of it... it goes straight in the garbage.
