Still my wonderful WP8's. They've responded with every improvement I've made with my system and room treatments.

My dealer is trying to get me to move to the Alexx from the X2S2 but I am still considering the MBL 101MkII if I do anything.

Have you heard the alexx? It's pretty much perfect if you ask me. I think it might be better than the xlf! Of course I've never compared side by side. Mbl is off the charts good, too. I've heard some at shows, just stunning. These are good problems to have, either choice would be mind blowing!

Yes I've heard the Alexx many times. I'm not "sure" they sound better than my x2's but it is very possible they would work better in my room and my dealer believes this too.

One issue I prefer the older Wilson tweeters to the newer soft dome. Now that doesn't mean the XLF and now the Alexx aren't better speakers because it is hard to separate the sound of the tweeters from the other changes like crossover and other drivers.

There are times I miss the sound of my 111f's. I understand that not everyone likes the MBL sound but it sounds like live performance to me.

I had Sasha 1s, and I definitely prefer the new tweeter. If you like the ti one, then maybe you really already have the ideal speaker for you! You've got an amazing setup.

To my ears, the Wilson silk dome is very slightly laid back and less airy at the top than some diamond or metal domes but that's not necessarily a bad thing when listening to the typically treble boosted jazz or pop / rock recordings these days, and in any case it can be mostly managed by tailoring listening room treatments. The one quality of the silk dome that's attractive is that it sounds 'silky', and does so without sacrificing any transparency. Being able to listen for long periods without being fatigued by over-etched or razor sharp treble is definitely a desirable attribute.

Sasha Series 1 Biarritz White....Maxx 3 Biarritz White and Witt Series 1 black.

This was exactly what I was looking for when I started demoing speakers. My ears were starting to act up from the metal tweeters in my previous speakers.

Yvette in Ipanema Brown. Fantastic speakers for the money! Personally prefer the "new" Wilson sound over the "old".

Hello all! Yes, another "Newbe" to the site and first time owning Wilson . Building a new system, some equipment delivered, but nothing hooked up. I'm now a proud owner of Sabrina's in Galaxy Gray. Can't wait to hear them sing. Thanks.

Garytn 08-01-2017 08:28 PM

Welcome Bradley and congrats on your new system. You'll have to give us a report once you have it broken in.

Sharp 1080 08-05-2017 09:07 PM

Maxx 3, Mezzo center, and Sophia's all in black. If I ever changed fronts it would be the XLF.

You upgrading to GAT S2? I am hoping to later this year.

Coppy 08-07-2017 05:53 PM

Hey Turntable,

How can I not?
Also later this year after a home improvement project finishes. People who have done the upgrade seem to like the results.

Nice lizard. Where are you located?

turntable 08-08-2017 06:33 AM

Coppy. I am in Sydney.

yes agree, the upgrades seem to be very well liked.

What about the new ART amps?

petesm 08-09-2017 09:10 PM

Haven't heard them, but they certainly look cool with all those pretty KT150s. They are pricey as well. Knowing cjd, a nice improvement over the previous models. Have also not seen any reviews yet. Guess we'll have until someone needs an amp to review.

Wilson Audio owners poll - 2017

Hello,: I am a "newbe" too! This is my first ever post on a audio forum! I have Alexia 1 in dark Serbin Blue (2016) they replaced my Sophia 2 (2006) that replaced my Sophia 1 (2003) I love wilson!!! Needless to say most of my system is based around the Sophia's. Sometime I would like to get some opinions on my associated gear. I do have a dedicated listening room that is treated/designed by Vicoustics and a spouse that is very accommodating!!! so I am covered in those departments:D.

vintage_tube 08-17-2017 06:32 PM

Welcome JWM -- nice to have you post.

Best Sir,

Bob
