Our Visit to Bart and Meta

1 Attachment(s)
Yesterday, myself and my significant other payed a visit to Bart and Meta's abode.

First things first...desserts cooked by Meta are Epic and worthy of anybody's bucketlist. Meta had prepared a moelluex chocolat cake, and I kid you not, the first bite induced an instant chocolat high, tickling pleasure centers in the brain I wasn't even aware of I had.

Bart and Meta live in a beautiful house filled with art, books and music.

For pictures of the listening area I recommend following thread

The room is actually bigger than the pictures would suggest.

Their Burmester CD Player, Tuner and Power Supply are jewels of engineering perfection.

The Halgorythme tube pre-amp and tube Class A amps are astounding displays of craftmanship and offer exceptional value. If the amps would have been hidden I would have assumed them to be solid state amps, as they do not colour the sound with any euphonics. The self effacing Vivid speaker present a wide and deep soundstage and when playing an audiophile direct mic recording it became instantly obvious what this system was capable of.

The listening area counts lots of big glass surface area's and it will be interesting to hear what room treatment will contribute to an even better music delivery. As the linked thread documents, the only thing constraining the full potential of this system is the room.

The whole system exudes pride of ownership and we are grateful we had the opportunity to have a small taste of the fruits of this accomplishment.

During the 2 hour drive back home we carried with us this great experience as a blanket, having spent time in this "feel good" zone.

Thank you Bart and Meta...and to be continued

Jacques.......What a lovely description of your time with Bart and Meta. I am positive they also enjoyed your visit to their home. Just looking at the photo of Meta's moelluex chocolate cake caused me to salivate.

That cake looks absolutely amazing! And I'm sure the music was just as amazing with Bart's Halgorythme amps, Vivid speakers and wonderful taste in music.

I, too, love it when AAers get together. Bravo to all! :)

Jacques and Liesbeth, it was a lovely afternoon and evening yesterday.
Thank you for your very friendly description.

This crazy hobby of ours is not understood by many.
Having the opportunity to talk about cables, tweaks and other audio things is precious.
And the conversation even went further than audiophile territory. Good sign!

Looking forward to further developing friendship!
Liesbeth and you are both fine people.
Glad to know you.
