to those with this player, have you noticed / heard and transport drive noise from your listening position ? I am going to audition a less than one year old player next week and the seller mentioned that as his only complaint. Strange given what is supposed to be one of if not the best transport out there

Should have Zero transport drive noise. That one has issues.

interesting, he claims to have called Esoteric, explained what he heard and was told all is normal ?? I'm gonna check it out next week and we shall see ............

P-02 (current, 5+yrs)

ZERO transport noise with discs spinning since early 2000s with Esoteric. No services visits either, ever, for any transport issue. All units I sold to others still going strong.

Call Esoteric and check on his story, perhaps it simply needs service.

Dave, I have a K03x and you can barely hear the tray opening and closing. Definitely no noise when it is spinning. Run away.

I on the other hand, love tray noise...I mess with the cat and press eject/close when she’s near it. :D :naughty:

gents, thanks for your feedback. The gentlemen is but a half hour away so I will check it out. He's the original owner, less than a year old so I would presume the warranty is still good / transferable ?

Transferable...not sure.

See if he mailed in the warranty card as that should extend the starter warranty period.
