New stereo RELs arrive this weekend

I suspect they will either be like wine that you drink and immediately appreciate, or you are never satisfied and continue to fuss with it over they years.

I'm hoping it's the former. Some people say it's dead easy to integrate these things and others say that they never quite got them right. We shall see.

Congrats and best of luck.

I have 2 REL G1’s paired with Focal Scalas. Take the time to dial them in and run them very quietly.
Enjoy.

Start very low on the crossover and work your way up slowly. Having a test CD and an SPL meter would be very helpful to check the integration of the sub with the speakers. You'd be surprised how lumpy and bloated the bass can get when one tries to adjust by ear and wind up with bass peaks that are way out of proportion. A good sub dialed in should never draw attention to itself.

Which test cd do you recommend?

You can try to download and burn your own here. http://realtraps.com/test-cd.htm

Thanks.

Just hooked them up a few hours ago - super easy. I got the longbow wireless connector, so fewer cables. Very easy (almost stupid easy) to pair. Obviously, no serious listening yet, but no delay whatsoever perceptible at this time. Also easy to integrate - so initial report is very positive. No boom, just nice. I’ll let them burn in a bit and then fiddle with placement, crossover in more detail, etc, but just awesome as of now.
