Vidar.............
Anyone using a Vidar (or two)? Have one inbound that arrives on Friday. Should be a 'fun' listen with the matching Saga.

Looking forward to you impressions - once Vidar is burned in an up to snuff.

I run a pair with Yggy 2 and Freya. Love 'em. One thing I can say is they "grip" my speakers and don't ever let go, the detail and soundstage allow the system to vanish leaving just music.

Good to 'hear' (read). Due in tomorrow and it will run 24/7 while I'm away over the weekend. Won't be loud unless the wife decides to boggie.:banana:

Vidar delivered this a.m. (unusual - normally get Fedex mid-afternoon). After ~2hr there is no question that the Vidar has better control of my 87db efficient speakers than did the 25wpc tube amps it replaced. Seems to be clean & clear, but won't start making any critical judgements until after the weekend of run-time.

Looking forward to your impressions Glenn! |
Am about 5-6 hours into the Vidar and it is very pleasing. Presentation is just enough different from that of the previous amps that I've had to move the speakers a bit to be aimed directly at my listening position or the sound-stage moves towards one speaker or the other. Slightly smaller sweet-spot. Also, after several years of tubes, another noticeable feature is how quiet the background is. Simply nothing there between tracks.

Up to 100+ hours with the Vidar and remain quite pleased. The additional power has done an excellent job with the 9K speakers and I'm still doing some fine-tuning on their position. Then will give bi-wiring a try.
