Sweet Pioneer SX-1250
|
I used to own one; I don't remember mine new looking that good!
|
I traded mine in eons ago toward a MC2000. I'd like another one, someday.

Boy the guy sure can pen some hyperbole. I didn't know I was missing the Golden Age of Hi Fi as I lived thru it. Funny, my gear has continued to improve over the year, though maybe not by leaps and bounds. :)

The seller has been selling vintage receivers for at least several years. He has top-notch stuff and gets very good prices.

That is sweet indeed....that top view shows a gorgeous wood cabinet.
There were some really impressive receivers built in that era...by Pioneer, Marantz, Technics and others. I've always been a separate components kind of guy, coming very close to biting the bullet and snagging a receiver just for fun but never actually doing it. I did "pull the trigger" once, I did a buy it now on eBay for a Marantz Model 19, but the guy then emailed me and said the right channel suddenly smoked. So, the deal was off and he refunded my payment. That SX-1250 is a beauty! Pete |

Pete.......I feed the receiver with from an output on the C1000P in the main system, and the 4300V drives the speakers outside on my upstairs deck. Easy duty for the faithful McIntosh receiver. I also use the 4300V's tuner when I am outside so I can listen to the radio if I am in the mood. I wouldn't care if the McIntosh 4300V wasn't driving any speakers, and was just sitting on the bookcase not connected to anything. I am sentimentally attached to this receiver, sort of like an old flame.
