One Room Tweak = New Sounding System
2 Attachment(s)
One piece of furniture removed is like depressing the sport mode selection on cars with such a feature - everything opens up and performance is instantly gained.
My system has been a journey with the proverbial add this, upgrade that, change this... While I was disciplined to laying the electrical and mechanical foundations and treatments I did not want to sacrifice my table in front of my listening position, not even try until for some reason yesterday. I simply replaced the solid reflective table with a smaller leather ottoman and experienced an incredible, amazing leap forward - no joke! This is my first tweak that literally cost me zero, nada, zilch... The room is like 13’ x 25’ x 9’ with the rear half being a mini bar with fridge and round bar table for 4 (pictures are on here somewhere) - the sound back there is very good as well. (The second system in the room is the HT system, which I don’t do view all that much.) Before (older picture, some gear, well maybe a lot, has been updated) https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...0&d=1532884194 After (today) https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...1&d=1532884212 Take away; don’t fear the reaper, try new things and see what comes from it. And Most Important; Enjoy Your Sound Attachment 56020 Attachment 56021 |

You make a great point Ed. I’m glad you posted this.
Any reflective surface between you and your speakers is a potential trouble spot. Large hard surface coffee tables cause reflections closely spaced in time to the output of the speakers, blurring the sound and reducing the size of the image. Nice change, and it didn’t cost anything to try out. Bravo! Now try putting a thick blanket or comforter over the tv and see what happens! Tom |

Ed.......What do you think you may do. An acoustic art panel over the television would be quite attractive in your beautiful room. Take some time to look around the AcousticART website. Lots of great ideas there. They will make acoustic panels in custom sizes, too.

Going to do something but later in the year. Your right, tying up a blend of function and art makes sense. Now what exactly do I use for the art... - favorite rock band with a black and white photo, like The Who smashing equipment - bring something from the outside in? I benefit by having Puget Sound and Islands as a view throughout the but the music room - picture of my wife, laying on the couch, provocatively dressed listening to Wilson’s? - Ivan and his new Cantons - other... |
Ed.......You may want to talk that last option over with your wife. . :D
