I'm a bit confused, do you mean the Mariinsky Orchestra? Mariinsky Theater is in St.Petersburg while The Bolshoi is in Moscow.

Valery Gergiev is the chief conductor of Mariinsky Theater Orchestra (was called Kirov during the Soviet days) in St.Petersburg.
