Shunyata Research Everest review in The Audio Beat
Good buddy and AA member Vance Hiner has an excellent and very well-written review of the Shunyata Research Everest power distributor here:
www.theaudiobeat.com/equipment/shunyata_research_everest_8000.htm I agree with everthing Vance says. I'll add that adding Everest to my system brought the biggest improvement and performance upgrade I've made to my system in a decade. |
great article. very interested to get his take on the sigma xc and everest combo and even the omega XC! i hear the same sorts of things in my lesser setup of AU8 and sigma XC.

Great review. Do you know if he plugged his amps into the Everest or if they go direct to the wall outlet? I see conflicting messages on this, with some people saying Shunyata advises amps should go to the wall, while their website says things like this: “Dynamics are actually improved when an amplifier is connected to the Denali even when compared to a direct connection to the wall outlet.” I have my Dag plugged into my Denali 6000T and think it’s an improvement. |
It is a fine review and many of his observations parallel my own thoughts. I won't go as far as Stephen's comment that it was the biggest improvement in my system in many years, yet I will say that I wouldn't want to be without it and the nicely matched Sigma v2 XC power cord.
The way my system is set-up I cannot even audition it with my amps connected to the Everest. I do have all my front end components and pre-amp connected to the unit. |
Are $8k power conditioners still in demand? Asking for a friend as I have been out of that game personally... :D
Entertaining review though, they almost always are in this fun hobby of ours. |

I think the answer is...it depends. I have a mid-power (70 Wpc) amp and it definitely benefits from being plugged into Everest; the QB/BB device and CMode filter definitely improve its performance. Depending on their setup and their amp's current requirements, folks could try them both ways. For big, high-horsepower amps, it's may well be best to plug them straight into the wall. However, they won't benefit from the Shunyata QR/BB technology, which, in my experience, is a significant technology. This use-case is exactly what the new Omega-QR power cords were developed for; so those amps plugged directly into the wall can benefit from QR/BB technology. |

The Denali v2 with a sigma XC was like a significant component upgrade in my system. Wish I had done it sooner, I have always been a bit skeptical of PC’s. Not anymore!
My Amps - mac 501’s are plugged into it, the system sounds so good I haven’t compared going directly to the wall. |
