Spain and Portugal

It's been a warm start to our Spain/Portugal trip. Sunday, today and tomorrow are all in the high 90's or 100 range. Sunday was a half day at the Prado museum before spending a half day in Segovia. Ended the evening back in Madrid for a nice dinner. Today started with a half day walking the old town of Toledo and another stop in Avilia and now continuing on to Salamanca.

Best Sangria ever last night. Too bad Linda and I had less than 15 minutes to drink the entire pitcher before heading to dinner.

If you get a chance to stroll 'old town' in Madrid, which is mostly just to the west of the Prado over to the Puerta del Sol, it is the heart of tapas bars (literally hundreds of them). Great food & drink at reasonable prices. Madrid is a wonderful city. We had one of our best times in Europe with a 15-day visit to Madrid and south to the Costa del Sol (Marbella). We are headed north of Madrid (San Sebastian, Bilbao, etc.) next time. The Alhambra is beautiful if you can get down to Granada.

Don't forget to launch "Casa Lucio" in Madrid and taste the special spanish ham "Jamón de Jabugo" in Salamanca.

Spent the afternoon walking around Seville in 108 F temps. Supposed to cool down here Saturday to 107. May be a day to spend some of the day reading and drinking Sangria.

Heading out for dinner and the temperature is between 44-45 C. That is 111-114!!! And I don't like it above 75F.
