With the Burmester gear, those Aida must sound unbelievable. I suspect you never listened to them without tri-wire or only 2 amps?

Derek... First, this is my favorite sounding system bar none.

Initially I started with two 911 MKIII's and Bi-wired. It sounded amazing, but LuJr one day came up with the brainstorm to get a third. He said it would look so cool to have three 911's one in each rack. I just gave him the "eye" then I started thinking, I could horizontally tri-amp the Aida's with a third.

Not really thinking I would hear a huge improvement, I went forward and did it. Boy was I wrong, having the third amp just driving the down firing infra-woofer made a profound improvement.

The rest as they say is history.

Just lovely Ivan - when the word detail and ultimate audio components are combined, your name pops up.

Happy Holidays Folks,

That's great, it's fantastic that you've maximized the performance of such a remarkable speaker, every pair sold should be so lucky. I'm going to see a pair one of these days, maybe at CES.

Beautiful! When it is all fired up it must be very hard to leave that room!:music::music::music:

The only common thread I have with that photo is your URC MX-980 remote, if I am seeing it correctly...:D

Happy Holidays Ivan and everyone here on AA!

bakerman 12-24-2012 09:40 AM

Ivan... These are really wonderful systems.

Possibly this was already asked in another thread but what/how do you do to keep all your gear clean i.e. dust etc... ?

Happy Holidays.

Thank you, I use a Billy Bags duster.

Also micro fiber cloths and various cleaning products depending if glass, chrome, or painted surfaces.

Thank you Joe... I've been at this hobby a long time; they tell me I'm also the carrier of the dreaded LuFlu aka Audio Up-Graditis, but I don't believe them.

Having seen ALL the AWESOME combo's in your homes, I have a question for you.

IF ever you are given only ONE system, which one will you pick?

This is NOT a trick question ... and the system is a STEREO combo.

Care to share you FINAL pick?

Me? Well, I do have mine IF I had the same systems and was allowed to pick only ONE! Others can join in too.

Questions aside, I dont think there is anyone in this whole wide world who have the PASSION as you had for immaculate sound systems. Like a Chinese saying goes, "if you are number two, there will never be a number one"!

You're the best!

I will salivate, enjoy all of your systems for a lifetime experience, BUT for sure, I'll stay far away from you. Your "disease" is really, super contagious!

The problem is not the disease, the problem is can you afford to TREAT that disease.:banana::banana:

I have just devoloped a bad case of table/phonostage envy!!! Congrats on building so many SOTA systems!

Ivan,

I just went through this thread looking at your systems. In a word "Awesome"! I need a bigger house, no just a bigger audio room....:)

Masterlu 01-27-2013 04:54 PM

Thank you Mark, a huge labor of love.

Here are some updated pics of "The Room" in Florida.

This is the rack that got completely re-configured yesterday.

Even with my 24mm standing 26' back I couldn't get the speakers in.

An interesting angle shot; the motorized Stewart Screen drops from the ceiling, literally within 3/8" in front of the cabinet for HT duty.

Ivan, your room has to be the most impressive display of true audio power in the world.

To seat down and watch a complete movie in your room must be a truely rewarding experience.
