Redcloud trouble dl

I upadated from huron to redcloud, my ds dac now shows redcloud 0 0 0, if it says redcloud, but has zeros beside it, does that mean the download didn’t fully work? what numbers should be underneath redcloud when update goes right? A huge thank you to anyone who can offer me any insight in to this. It’s been 3 days of frustration.

newbie78.......Have you contacted PS Audio for help? That would be my first move.

Your DS dac after Redcloud should look something like this.

Newbie - the advise of Dan is sound, PA has great support!

The screen shot SL1800 shows is what it should be.

When I updated I copied the actual folder onto the SD card, and while the update files where in the folder, Direct Stream could not see them in the folder.

Double check you have the correct version as well, they should have two: direct stream and junior

Hope this helps!

Completely format the SD card and then just copy the files onto it not the folder. If that doesn't work go back to Yale or Toreys and then install Red Cloud again. What you probably have now is Huron with the title from the Red Cloud folder. And like Dan says if that doesn't work contact PS direct or just join their forum where Ted Smith and Paul participate every day.

Thank you guys, I got her updated. You're a great helpful group here.

Glad you got it to work, how do you think it sounds?

newbie78 12-15-2017 02:45 AM

I think it sounds funky like a munky. More bass and a bigger soundstage than offered by huron. Not as dynamic as huron in terms of snap of the symbols and things of that nature. I'll need another week of listening. What did you think of huron?

JMD 12-15-2017 03:13 AM

I thought Huron was slightly more "aggressive" and can see how it would appeal to fans of certain music styles. To be honest though I only used it for a couple of days. Coming from a tube DAC, Red Cloud is more comfortable to me. I have also let Red Cloud run for over four days straight either listening or on a continual playlist cycle and it seems to get better every day.

I think 0.0.0 was releated to the Bridge's upgrade right?
