Tanoy vs sonus faber

Hey guys,

I'm currently testing some Tannoy Kensington GR's, using McIntosh MC1100 and MC2301's to drive them. My previous speakers were also horn driven - klisch RF 7 II's. I must say the Tannoy sound bigger, relax and still with a nice bass... My question is, with my setup, is it worth to look at sonus faber amati futura's?

Needless to say i love tube, relax, laidback sound :)

Cheers!
Luk

Both Tannoy and Sonus Faber make wonderful speakers. If you are looking for a darker, more relaxed sound, I would suggest looking into the older SF speakers... Their newer generations per say are more neutral and modern sounding. The older Homage line on the preowned market is where I would look. I miss my Guarneri Mementos. Perhaps the owners of the newer generation can chime in and prove me otherwise. :D It is just one man's opinion after all.

Very nice set up. If I were you I would look at the Canterbury and don't look back. As other post the older SF's fit your taste but not so much on newer model.

The Amati futura are the darkest and most laidback speakers i heard to date. While i have the SF Aida, my dada has a pair of Amati futura and loves them!

Luk,
While this is clearly blasphemy in a Tannoy thread.....
I've been enjoying my SF Amati Futura's driven by MC 2301's and a C500t.
They make beautiful music together. Nicely detailed while still being laid back.

Tanoys and sonus fabers are the most beautiful speakers brands.
