I recently upgraded to the Ref 6, so I am putting up for sale my Audio Research Preamp REF 5SE ( not an upgrade ) comes with everything that came from factory.
Rated conservatively at 8/10 but the unit is has known slight distortion in clear top panel from 6550 tube heat. Shipping cost will be based on actual cost.

Unfortunately I've been pushing Steve towards a Ref6. We'll see where he ends up.

I did tell him, and I'll tell everyone right now, that the ref5se is a fantastic preamp, and is very close to the ref6 for a lot less money on the used market. Someone is going to get a great deal here! GLWS!

Definitely worth consideration. I heard one some time ago and was blown away - just like I have been with all ARC Ref products.

Surprised I didn't get any offers, anyone have suggestions, like to sell to AA'er, too many sharks in the waters these days.
