Synergistic Research Cables

Hey there,

Not much is reported about Synergistic Research cables around here. A lot of folks use their fuses (like me) with great results so that makes me curious about their cable offerings. Since I realized last year how much improvement a simple USB cable was doing in my setup, it got me buying 3 different cables and now a 4th one on the way. The Atmosphere X USB seems interesting with its "out-of-the-box" design principle as it is an active cable with a 115V plug. Not much press online either.

But I wonder if some people could report their appreciation of the other SynR cables such as A/C, IC and speaker cables.

Thanks,

Used their Looking Glass Ref ICs about 20yr ago. Was a fine cable but I tired of the active bits that had to be plugged in, etc. No question about their high quality, but I'm staying with passive cables of all sorts.

In general they are an excellent cable. Comparable to any offerings from Wireworld or Shunyata. There well made, very quiet and transparent, dynamic, with rich mid-range timbre and smooth, extended highs.
They require a lot of break-in due to the active shielding, especially on the pc's. SR's cables are all about lowering the noise floor which reveals more musical info and from my experience i can say they have succeeded.

A Visit to SR's Factory...

Even I would have a hard time hiding all those cables. ;)

That is ridiculous. Looks like Medusa.

Now, where is Perseus? :D
