Aurender N100H and McIntosh - Good Pair?

Hi all,

I just returned my MB50 (too many issues with it, have a thread about it here) and ordered a new Aurender N100H.
I still haven;t received it but started reviewing materials and FAQ on their website when I came across a list of incompatible/problematic DACs. This is what it says about McIntosh:

They describe them as "DACs which have particular issues but work normally otherwise"

"Various Models w/DAC, including integrated amplifiers and preamplifiers.
When the sample rate changes, the DAC freezes.
Solution- Power cycle the McIntosh device, and the DAC should re-sync with the current sample rate of the file."

I intend to connect the Aurender to my C2600 and wanted to know if any of you Mc users out there have encountered any issues using the Aurender with your Mc gear and specifically the C2600?

Maybe I should have read it more carefully before ordering, now I am having some concerns. If this pair is not going to work well I think that I will go for the Auralic Aries instead.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Aurender N100H and McIntosh - Good Pair?

Don’t worry. You should be fine! No issues when I paired X100L and MCD1100 few years back and now with N10 and D1100 other than occasional initial USB handshake issue but changing sample rates is flawless. You made the right decision. Aurender is a top shelf server.

There are reports of issues at times with the USB connection when the sample rate is increased to 176/192 or DSD. I had the problem with a D100.

I believe it has improved with the newer DAC models like the C2600.

Personally never had an issue with coaxial/optical connection with the D100.

Connection with the D100 was with an Auralic Aries

Zero issues with my Mc2600 and N100H. I use a usb connection.

I’m using my N100H with the c2500. No issues just beautiful music!

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback all. The Aurender should be here on Friday. I’ll connect, test and report.

Likewise I am using an N100H with McIntosh C2600.

Shunyata Alpha Digital powercord on the N100H and Shunyata Alpha HC on the C2600 linked by Wireworld Platinum 7 USB. [emoji4]

Hey guys,

I just received the N100, connected and working! Don't have an opinion yet though, need to spend more time with it, sans kinds...

I do have one problem though, I can not get it to work with Spotify. I want to stream Spotify from my iPad and the Aurender can not be found as a playback device on Spotify. I thought it supported AirPlay and that it was automatic.
Do you guys stream music from Spotify? If so, how?

I don’t know how to use AirPlay but found this ...

http://support.aurender.com/airplay.html

I had absolutely no idea I could stream from my iOS device to my Aurender. I have a nugs.net app that I use to steam cd quality live shows, Dead & Company and Pearl Jam. Now I can stream it to my big rig (even if iOS devices will downconvert to AAC protocol). Thanks for the heads up!
