JBL-L100 Speakers

Anyone else remember these fondly? My friend had these in a high ceiling room and we played the hell out of them. No isolation, no acoustic treatments, playing vinyl on a cheap turntable, we thought it was a good as it gets. :D

God yeah, I owned half a dozen pairs over the years. :)

What memories!

Well of course I do! They were my first pair of JBL's, I bought in 1977. Who didn't own a pair?

My older brother had a pair and I was hooked. I couldn't afford them so I went out and bought the Decade 36 model with my paper route money!

Sadly, me - I had Ohm-E bookshelf speakers, which is why I hung out at my buddy's house listening to his JBL's. :D

Randy.......Oh yeah! I bought a pair new and had them for years. Finally gave them to my brother about 25 years ago. He is gone now but his widow still has them. They were the JBL L100's with the orange grills.

I had to replace the grills once when a girlfriend's cat used them as scratching posts one day while I wasn't home. I nearly had a heart attack when I walked in and found orange foam all over the carpet and the lower parts of both grills shredded. Fortunately no damage to the speakers, just the grills.

Ivan.......If that girl had not been so good, that cat would have had to call up one of its extra lives. I didn't touch the cat but a squirt gun with a water and vinegar mixture got its attention pretty quick. That, and I put the new grills in the closet until that girlfriend became an ex and the cat left with her.
