Check out the Luxman DA-06, I thought it was very good compared to others...

Hi Jim,

I've often wondered how the S5 would sound on the XA-100.5. The amps have a lot of warmth, so maybe that would match well the S5's neutrality. My Salon 2 are very neutral and have a nice synergy with the XA-100.5 but they probably aren't as dead neutral as the S5.

Best,
Ken

To All: I apologize for instigating some of the brouhaha with David

Penthouse,

Thanks for your input. I would love for you to elaborate a bit on your experience with the Q5 and the x600.5's, but I don't want to steal the S5 thread. I will start another. I am particularly interested in whether the xa200.5s will: 1) have the backbone to handle the difficult impedance curve and phase angle of the Q5's, 2) add a little needed (to my ear) warmth to the Q sound, and, 3) have the speed to and control to show off the Q5's remarkable capabilities. I know other amps are may excel in certain of these areas but I have chosen the xa200.5's as my anchor (against the recommended protocols of some) because I just cant find anything I like as much as Class A.

Thanks,

Paul

Ivan,
Please shut off this thread because it is ruined with about 90% of comments that are absolutely not related with my original topic.
Thanks in advance.

BTW, lately we have here some sort of "brand" fanatics here on audioaficionado.org, if someone wrote a single word that is not totally nice about some brands it get fried by some of those "brand" fanatics here...
