It was a good chance for me to be able to hear them before
they will deliver to lucky customer soon.

Here was the same room that impressed me so much with Q3 performance.
Today they used Rega ISIS as CD source and with better model of MIT cables
The last time they used Soulution 540 as source and different models of MIT cables.

Q7 are huge in all dimensions and quite intimidating, like cyclops. speaker terminals are
80cm. off the ground and are for biwiring/biamping . V3 back there looked miniature by comparison.

I was very impressed when I heard Q3 here many months ago, but today
source used was different and speakers were still so new.. So I really don't wanna comment besides they did make deeper bass than Q3,of course.

I post photos without permission from owner of showroom, but I hope he will be ok with this as his showroom and sound system are first class.
Thank you for let me me Q7 for once in my life.

Would like to hear to this particularly because never experienced Soulution gear.

Toga,

Thanks for posting and sharing the pictures. The Q7s do look quite large.

Also, that looks like a very well prepared/treated room.

Sure Mike,
For Portugal, may I explain Soulution sound in analogy to lighting.
Soulution 700 ( in bridge mode) make immense of clean power. very powerful, very clean. Today I heard them in Bi amp mode ( power is half, power factor doubled) and
I think it was not as powerful sounding as in bridge mode I heard driving Q3 months ago.
Q7 do have high voltage sensitivity, but that doesn't mean they don't like lots of watt or current. Bigger power will make them sound more powerful. Ok back to analogy, as I say Soultion in this room make clean and clear powerful sound. It's like the light from metal halide high bay lamp, that hung from high ceiling used in car showroom. the bright and white light that make you see all the brilliant metallic pixel in car paint and all finger print very clearly. That how I feel the tonality of Soulution amp driving Q7/Q3 sound. or if I am meaner, I can say that it has the similar tonal colour of "daylight" fluorescent lamp. I drive my Q3 with ARC+Moon and I get it like a light from 50watt halogen bulb, slightly dimmed.

@Toga,

Thanks for the Soulution sound description. "Sounds" brighter than bright... Harsh! Not for me.

TOGA 06-10-2012 10:07 AM

@portugal,
Well, believe me, Soulution is never harsh.
Ok imagine we have a piece of sculpture, we can light it with many different kinds of lamp to have different mood, but that sculpture is still the same one.
Soulution is just similar to have that sculpture lit with the bulb i said earlier. Some may want other tone such as to have it lit with a few candles.
For a cosy and warmer feel. I guess Q7 will be warmer and softer with some other high quality amp.

hello, I heard this monster Q7 in this room as well. The best I've ever heard and build quality is top notch. Couldn't believe how transparency they are. Bass is so deep and the soundstage is stunning consider its size.
