Three or four?
 

As many isolation products are offered in sets of three what do you prefer, using three or four units. I'm getting ready to add some isolation feet under my CDP and wonder about the stability of "tri" configuration. Especially when using Rolller Blocks of that's how I choose to go.

I like 4 just for stability. If you have heavy interconnects and power cord it just seems more stable with 4. Some years ago I had a problem with a preamp falling off of cones when I was using 3.

I was at my Audio Research dealer this afternoon and he now has IsoAcoustics Gaia isolation feet. I borrowed a set to play with over the weekend. They are suppose to be really good. I am going to try a set of the smaller ones under my CD player. BTW they come in sets of 4.

When I used Rollerblocks they came in sets of three, which worked very well. With Stillpoints, I use four because each “technology packet” adds benefit.

Don... either 3 or 4 RollerBlocks will work fine.

My question isn't really about Roller Blocks but merely a example of what seemed more unstable when compared to something like Stillpoints.

I don’t like the instability of only three.

I am unstable enough... I always use 4. Stillpoints in my case.

I like 3 Rollerblock Jr' s but prefer 4 Stillpoints.
