New Linn majik with Lingo 4 or used mcintosh mt5

I’m upgrading my denon turntable. Between a New Linn majik with Lingo 4 and a used mcintosh mt5 what would you suggest. Almost same price for both.

I think the minimum Linn would be the Akurate - the Project 9cc always looked a bit out of place in a Linn :)

The Akurate at least gets you a proper Linn arm

Allan - the MT5 would be a great match to your system and provides excellent performance.

The one advantage of the Linn is it’s easily upgradeable when you’re ready for the next step.

I spoke too soon!

Now there's going to be a new Majik with a new Linn arm

FWIW, I'd get the Lingo 4 PSU with the Majik anyway

I went with the new LINN turntable

Got my Majik LP12 with the new Jelco tone arm the other day. I also got the lingo4 upgrade. I got a good deal with my new unused bits traded in for the lingo4.

Im impressed by the LINN. The sound is thick and I am hearing instruments and music variations that I didn’t notice were there. A cymbal here, a horn there, the Majik’s ability to bring out details, which were imperceptible on my Denon deck, amazes me to no end.

Funny thing is I listen to a much lower volume now as I try to hear the different nuances in each song, whispered passages that put a detail to each tune. It’s as if there are Majik codes hidden in each song and its a joy to hear them.

That's the indicator of a true upgrade, imo. Over the years, I've had the same experience.
