When I first got my first decent stereo, it was in 1987 when I discovered electrostatic speaker and purchased a pair of Acoustat Spectra 22 speakers.

Well today a customer traded in a pair of Acoustat Spectra 22, had original boxes, packing. Grill socks look as new, wood bases still like new without a mark, even the interfaces in perfect shape.:D

Forgot how a full range electrostatic panel sounds like, bass down to 20 hz according brochure.

Impressed as MC312 running cool even with high volume levels:banana::music:

Who would thought in 2019 being using same speakers as I had in 1987

That is awesome Dan! I cannot decide yet on 20.7 or 800D3’s. My buddy Alan keeps saying go for the Magnepans.

Like my old Acoustat model III speakers I bought right out of college decades ago. Everybody that came to my house on those old days were astonished by them because of the 2001 connection. It was fun if not just for that.

I thought it was the Mirage M series. :D I noticed the resemblance the first time I actually watched 2001 (on laserdisc!) and saw how closely my M-3si speakers resembled the monoliths. But these Acoustats bear a strong resemblance as well. Not familiar with them, I but think they'd be perfect in a home theater, too; the "monolithic" look is quite appropriate.

You have yourself a good pair of speakers, and apparently the previous owner took care of them. Here's hoping you don't have to replace them anytime soon!
