Just ordered a BCD-3
 

I just ordered a BCD-3 to complete my all new Bryston Rig. :)

Ivan.......This is one sweet CD player, essentially the Bryston BDA-3 DAC with a proprietary dedicated 44.1 transport. The review in December's The Absolute Sound was very positive. I am confident you will be pleased. Very nice price point, too.

Did TAS mention it is a software controlled player? What is the lag like when operating transport controls?

To be pedantic, all CD players are software controlled. The BCD-3 has a transport and controller board combo like most dedicated CD players. If you had lag issues with CD players in the past it was probably a read-ahead type that buffered a large amount of audio into memory first like a BOT-1 would. The BCD-3 is as responsive as you would expect.
