I've been working on the (less than stelar) stock firewire cables supplied with my DCS stack and have come to realize that i should probably get better quality 1394 cables! After 2 days of misery (troubleshooting) I fixed the problem (loose connection) with a pair of pliars! And that's after connecting it in dual AES mode but realizing the sound was not as good...
I'm STILL going to get better 1394 cables though - and that's what led me to this excellent site! Thanks for being here...through reading things here and there I learned a great deal.

I have the Dynaudio Focus 340 in piano black lacquer finish.
Amplification by Plinius M8 preamp & Plinius P10 power amp. Love the sound.:tresbon:

New to the forum and figured a post in reference to my favorite piece of equipment in my rig is appropriate, which happens to be my second hand but minty Dynaudio Contour 3.3's.
They get their juice via a Parasound HCA-3500. There is a Parasound C-1 in front of the HCA-3500 and an HCA-2205A to handle surround duty for the rest of the rig since it is not a dedicated two channel setup. Both the Dyn's and the amp are built around the same time frame and are a match straight from the heavens.

I have a 5.1 system setup. Bryston 6sst powers my confidence c2's and centre speaker contour s cx

Bryston 3sst powers my 2 rear dynaudio audience 72 speakers.

15inch Velodyne sub and bryston sp3 surround processor, and dac bda-2 (bryston) connected to Mac mini.

I'm using a BAT VK-6200 (5-channel) amp with my C2's and SCX center in a 5.1 configuration. There is nothing bright or edgy about this amp as others may have suggested elsewhere. My highs are very clear and smooth. And with the Theta Digital Cassablanca III, I have a wide assortment of settings with cross-overs and slopes to fine-tune the sounds.

I've also paired my Ayre V1xe amp with my C2s with excellent results.

Evans224, I was just the opposite. My first experience with Dynaudio was with the home speakers. Then I bought car speakers for my car. What a nice sounding system! I powered them with a Simphony amp (from Italy) and an Eclipse head unit...the one with no amplification.
