MC462 Owners Club

I hope I'm not presumptuous in starting this thread, but given that I just bought an MC462 today I thought it might be appropriate. It is being delivered tomorrow and will replace a 19 year old MC352 which is driving 19 year old B&W N802s. I recently upgraded my pre to a Moon 740P and will shortly be enjoying some B&W 802 D3s. My MC352 has been such an awesome amp over the years !

Looking forward to hearing from others owners or anyone else !

Crap ! The new MC462 appears to be DOA. It will not power up.

Wow, a DOA McIntosh piece, that would seem to be pretty unusual. Any further luck?

Sorry

The dealer came over with a new fuse and we tried that but no luck. The red led comes on, but the amp itself won't power up. He brought back my old 352 and we repacked the MC462 and ordered a new one. My back is hurting !! I spoke to McIntosh on the phone and they were very so so about the whole thing. I have not had a bad piece of electronics in years, so I suppose I was due.

Wow that is bad luck. We all feel your pain. Hopefully new one comes ASAP.

Sorry about your experience, first C47 I received was DOA but replacement unit was good except for minor issues that have been resolved.
I think your replacement unit will be good.
All companies, can have defective units, otherwise warranties would not be needed.

Thanks all ! Hopefully I'll get the replacement next week, but probably the week after that.
