The best integrated amplifier I ever heard....

is the Rega Osiris. TAS Golden Ear Award 2010.

I could not agree more to everything stated.

How much do I love the Osiris ? Simple :
I could sell both my C1000P and my MC2301's and be very happy with this wonder.... :scratch2:

Jérôme.......Now that is saying something. Impressive statement.

Surely is a fine looking set-up.

Dan,
the Osiris is a killer.

The C1000P / 2301's combo is wonderful. You are probably the person at AA who knows the best how much I like them.
But the Rega Osiris have let my jaw on the floor and I can't forget what I heard. It costs a fraction of the Mc combo, at 7k euros / 9k dollars.
I believe that it could give me as much pleasure as the Mcs, if not more.
My aim was to listen to the REF5 and compare it to the C1000P.
But the next listening in my room will be to try the Osiris on the PMC speakers.
I hope that I will find a dealer in Paris that could let it to me for a try.

Jerome W 11-16-2011 11:00 AM

I just had my dealer on the phone, and although he does not have an Osiris on display, he should be able to provide one for me to try at home.
I can't wait !

The conclusion of the review says it all :

"As I mentioned earlier, I approached this review with skepticism and doubt, I suppose because—down deep—I feared Rega might build merely “good” components for a market segment where sonic greatness is required. But now that I’ve lived with the Isis and Osiris for months and experienced their capabilities firsthand, I see them in a completely different light. Where once I wondered whether the Rega pieces could keep up with established, pedigreed leaders in their class, I now find myself asking whether competitors can in fact keep up with the Isis and Osiris. They really are that good.

For my part, I’ve purchased the review samples, partly because they’re a delight to listen to, but also because they are powerful reviewing tools that shed plenty of light on ancillary components with which they are used. But frankly, you should not be unduly influenced by my purchase decision, since we all must make our own choices in this game. Instead, my only hope is that this review will inspire you to go out and give the Isis and Osiris a careful and open-minded listen, and then to draw your own conclusions. Whether you decide to embrace the Isis and Osiris or not, I’m confident you’ll find their performance eye-opening, to say the very least."

Jérôme.......It is a pity the Rega Isis does not include SACD, and only has a single USB digital input that is limited to Redbook CD resolution. At that price point I see that as a glaring omission.

The Osiris, on the other hand, seems like a fantastic value, although a minimum of two sets of balanced inputs would have made more sense to me.

Jerome, did you listen to the Osiris with the Isis? What you're saying is quite impressive! I had a chance to listen to Rega's entry level rig. They were quite good for the price.

Btw, Rega makes 2 identical lasers for every Isis. One is installed in the machine itself. The other one is stored in the factory for replacement purposes.

Dan,

I agree 150 % to both of your statements.
The Isis does not interest me because there is a single USB input. What a strange idea ! not even a coax input.
And I wish the Osiris could have a second balanced input : I was wondering about connecting to it both my MDA 1000 and the REF2 PHONO : I will have to choose which one will be fully balanced if I buy it....
