When was "the best you ever heard"

I was listening to AC/DC "Highway to Hell" in my car and remembering where I was when I heard the best reproduction of that song. For me, it was 2016 at a local dealer.
He was carrying the Magico line and actually had a pair of the Q5's hooked up to 3050 Boulder amplifiers - cant remember the brand of disk player but know it was decoding SACD info.

The room was at least 35ft wide, 45ft deep and 16ft ceilings.
No subs. Just super powerful amps feeding super fantastic speakers from an unbelievable mastering of this song. OMG. No shrill. No digital harshness whatsoever. Clean, low, articulate, powerful, bass. The confluence of sound stage and space. The louder it went, the cleaner it sounded. It was the answer to the question- if you were stuck on a desert island and you could only bring one hifi with you- what would you take?

Where was yours?

Does this include sessions involving illegal substances or excessive alcohol?

Illegal? You're living in the wrong state! Bar none, best sound I've heard was at one of the Newport Shows. Electronics were KR Audio, speakers were Marten, Stillpoints were under everything and Frank Sinatra was absolutely in the room.

Speaking of illegal...

One of many "best" musical moments was in 1972 riding around Santa Cruz, CA listening to War playing, "Get Down," in my 1966 Pontiac Catalina station wagon with my factory installed deluxe AM radio.

Okay, I'll join in....

Probably the best-souding system I've ever heard was Technical Brain monoblocks and pre-amp with an Esoteric player and TAD CR-1 "monitor" speakers.

The best "budget" system I've ever heard was a Conrad-Johnson ET3 preamp, LP66S power amp and Harbeth 30.1 speakers driven either by Nottingham TT or Bricasti M1 DAC. That system sounded absolutely amazing for the system price.
