Portugal...Really?
I heard the G2's little brother last week, the GIYA G3. I thought they sounded like a $50K transistor radio, flat & 2 dimensional. This may have been attributed to the dealer's setup effort. http://www.audioaficionado.org/membe...5-img-1508.jpg Personally, I think Vivid Audio loudspeakers look ugly. http://www.gothic.stir.ac.uk/wp-cont...h-element1.jpg |
The G3 in a proper system sounds great. I'm listening right now with great pleasure.
The looks are controversial. I like it, but not in that white /pearl you posted. But these speakers can be ordered in any color. I went black. Sent from my iPhone using A.Aficionado |
MyPal......really? :-)
You have to learn to play nice with the locals when you visit a sub-forum otherwise it comes across as intentionally provocative, particularly if you are very brief. I hope you are not telling us that you did not enjoy The Fifth Element. While I have yet to be impressed with the G3 myself in person I suspect you may be right on the setup issue. I get great results with lesser Vivids at home. I have also said on the looks front that I prefer the B1. That being said, my listening room has a pair of B&W 804 s at the rear and the B1 at the front. Once you get used to the curves the boxy shape of most speakers is pretty unappealing. A bit like a Volvo 240. I would be interested to know if anything else in Madrid came close to the Vivids. I find the cable lifts funny to look at in that photo go the G2s. I use Nordost Valhalla which sits on its edge and looks very different and less obtrusive |

I don't have any updated photos.
You can see the system pictures here, from the time I was still using the great Vivid B1, now upgraded to G3: http://www.audioaficionado.org/membe...al-system.html I've been too busy to update that thread with new pictures. |
