Potential montis purchase

dealer blowing their demo units at a great price. already has some dings in the wood portion which i don't mind as much with a 1 year old who's gonna bang his toys on them. anything i should be concerned about for several year old demos? they would be fully warrantied, but no boxes. only issue i have is convincing my wife who says they are ugly as sin.

For demos they should be heavily discounted as you can still find them BNIB for nearly half off so if they anywhere near that I'd find a new pair and enjoy. They are great speakers!

Superb speakers. If you want to jump, now is the time as brand new ones are still out there.

once this time passes, no more brand new montis.

I would look it over very closely. dealer demos are a lot different than used speakers from a private party. Just think about the number of people who have played with it, turned it up, removed speaker wire, walked it across the floor.

To me, it's not worth it... not when you can buy a brand new one for $4995.

what kind of dealer doesn't keep boxes to sell his demos ?

if you can't keep your one year old from doing more damage, think about what he/she can poke through the stator panel, I say buy some DJ speakers .........

Make sure you get a great amp to go with them. Those dang electrostatics are demanding on the amplifier since they range between 16ohms down to around 0.7 ohms.

It's not about the power handling at all its about the stability .
