Data port cabling

What size cable are you using to have your c1000 communicate with another Mcintosh component?

1/8 inch stereo mini plug to 1/8 inch stereo mini plug

or

3.5 mm stereo mini plug to 3.5 mm stereo mini plug

Where is a good place to buy qualiity cables?

I use 1/8 inch stereo mini plug to 1/8 inch stereo mini plug throughout my entire system. I purchased them in bulk from Rat-shack when they were still made very well.

I never heard back from Chuck about by control problem. Figured I could at least try some different/better cables to see if that fixed the problem.

I bought my originals from parts express, quality not so good.

Keep me posted.

:scratch2: Not sure why the quality of cable would be of great concern here given it has no impact on the sound. I'm quite confident FutureShop and BestBuy carry the appropriate Monster Cables for that application or you can order direct from MC.

Its not about sound, its about control. When I switch from D/A 1 to D/A 3 on my C1000 it should change from 1 to 3 on my MDA 1000. This is not happening everytime.

Klipschpyro,

Have you tried AudioClassics? They sent me some cables when I bought my MCD301. I've not had any issues. Somehow I don't think you're problem is a cable problem. I don't know.

When I installed the C1000, I replaced everything with Ratshack 1/8 stereo. I have had no problems with any control to this point.

Well lets see..... if its not shielded it could pick up RF which could be transfered to the jack and thus the chasis.... Just kidding I am just repeating what those who believe often say.
