Roku Chirping and Popping

Anyone else having these issues? I stopped using my Roku because I fear what that sound is going to my tweeters

I thought I was the only one. Every so often I experience those thru my surrounds.
I also experience pretty bad sound (dialogue) out of the center channel. Conversation is muffled and with a stridor to it. Noticed it since starting to watch "Man In The High Castle". Very disappointed...

I'm still using an older Roku 2. No issues.

Yes, as a matter of fact I stopped using mine and replaced it with an Nvidia Shield just because I had been having the issue for many months with no solution from Roku. I hooked my Roku up to a TV that I have in my office and there is no chirping when not running through a surround processor.

Does the shield have SPDIF? Or a 2nd HDMI? My SP3 doesn’t have the 4K board. I have the HDMI on my roku to my TV and SPDIF to my SP3.

It does not, just an HDMI output.

I could run it through my oppo, which I have HDMI split between my TV and SP3.

I wish Oppo would have all the streaming services built in. It would solve my problem.

It would solve some of my problems too. The only issue left would be that Oppo (203) has the Cinavia detection built in even for movies streamed from mkv files from a server on my network. I back up all my movies to my server so I can either stream them on one system or play them via disc in another, without having to carry them up and down stairs to different systems. The Shield does not have the Cinavia detection stuff built in which is another reason I went with it. There aren't many movies that have Cinavia protection encoded on them, but they are getting a little more common.

I'm sure glad you guys posted this. I was getting ready to move on an Oppo 203 with Roku Ultimate. Looks like I have some research to do. Thanks again.

The oppo is awesome. Buy one.. but skip the RoKu until they fix the issue. I'm not using mine until they do.

Apparently there's a firmware update, but it's selectively rolling out. It's total bullshit. RoKu is screwing themselves with this issue.
