Great seeing this thread today. I just bought a set of 3 meter Solstice 7 speaker cable and installed them on Thursday evening. A week prior I put a set of Oasis 7 interconnects in the system. So far I'm quite impressed. Open, detailed with great imaging and tonality. Not the best in the world but for the price well worth it. These cables replace Chord Carnival Silverscreen and Chord Cobra 3 interconnects. They are very good also but not better than the Wireworld. The biggest difference is resolution and the more forward presentation of the Wireworld cables.

Due to kitchen/lounge refurb (see link https://www.audioaficionado.org/show...347#post862347) I will have to re position the HiFi rack as the new heat pump is now located where the rack used to sit. So speaker cable length required has increased from 4 metre pairs, to 8 metre pairs! After a lot of research, due to the fact I cannot afford an 8 metre par of Nordost Red Dawn Leif cable to replace my 4 metre pair, I've picked Wireworld Solstice 7, mainly based on Dan's review- so hoping they sound as good as Dan says! He hasn't let me down yet so Im very confident that these cables will sing. The cables have just been delivered so I attach a photo later today. |
Nick.......I will be interested in your opinion on the Wireworld Solstice 7 speaker cable. I am unfamiliar with the Nordost Red Dawn Leif cables so I have no clue about their performance. I am intrigued about which speaker cable pleases you the most. Keep us posted, especially after you have some break-in hours on the Solstice 7's.

Dan,
Nice vintage gear! I run WW Solstice 7 8' cables on my NHT W2 Subs on the main system, and you are correct. The bottom end seemed to gain both speed and weight, which required some adjusting to both the NHT X1 crossover, and the modified Behringer DCX2496 controlling the modified tri-amped Magnapan MGIIIa's. I allocated more of the bottom end to the subs from the bass panels, as the blend was easier to match. Highly recommended, and has piqued my interest in other WW upgrades as funds allow. :^) Regards, Jim |

The cables look well made, solid & surprisingly heavy. I had them terminated with Wireworld Uni-Term Silver Bananas. Sadly cannot set-up until next Saturday- but looking forward to having a listen & reporting back:yes: https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...6&d=1503019954 https://www.audioaficionado.org/atta...7&d=1503019961 . |

Happy New Year, Jim |
Since this thread first came up I've re-cabled my office system with Solstice speaker cables; and more recently wired all of the speaker systems in my newly converted theater system with it. I've been very pleased with the results.

Solstice 7 Speaker Wire Up-date

Compared to the Nordost Cable I used prior (at almost 4x the cost), the Solstice holds up extremely well. The cable, as mentioned before, does have a more forward presentation, but is still very coherent. Bass is a strong point, being fuller than the Nordost, whilst there is a small loss of 'air' around string instruments at the top end vs the Nordost. (this seems to improve after 100 hours of burn-in;or is it my ears adjusting?). I'm with Dan, this cable is a sleeper & a giant killer in many aspects- especially on the mid-low bass presentation. It has changed my view about Wireworld cables- having been a Nordost fan for over 15 years. Wireworld offers cable at many more price points compared to Nordost, which is great for cash strapped Audiophiles and allows an upgrade path. No wonder Ivan sells Wireworld by the bucket load. Highly recommended- especially for long runs. |
Nick.......Good to finally read your impression of the Wireworld Solstice 7 speaker cables. I was confident you would find them worthwhile. They perform well above their price point and represent a true bargain in my opinion.
I still have the Solstice 7 speaker cables on my vintage system, although the gear has changed to a McIntosh MA230 integrated tube amplifier with solid state preamplifier, and I now use the Olive 04HD music server instead of the Denon DVD-2800. The JBL 4312A speakers sound so nice with the McIntosh MA230 and the Wireworld Solstice 7 speaker cables. |
