Piano Black Finish
My Canton speakers have a stunning piano black finish. As close to perfect as one can imagine, with great depth & no flaw. However, it does show the slightest amount of dust and I'm wondering about cleaning. I use a soft brush attachment on the vacuum hose as I don't want 'swirl' marks from wiping with a cloth. Am wondering if putting a coat of car wax (real wax, no cleaner) on same would help? Anyone tried wax and what are your results?

Applied gently with 100% cotton cloth results are super easy, super shiny, and super slippery. My JL Audio sub has no swirl marks and looks as new. "Everything you need to clean, protect and shine all hard shiny surfaces. Our unique cleaning fluid contains no alcohol or ammonia, it's safe to use around children and pets! Brillianize leaves an anti-static, fingerprint resistant finish so you don't have to clean as often." How about a Swiffer? Super soft and the dust goes away instantly. Just keep it clean.

Canton shipped the speakers with a cleaning cloth. That's what I use. So far, no swirl marks.
Edit: Unless it was McIntosh that shipped with a cleaning cloth. Now I'm confusing myself and don't remember. Anyway, it's a common soft microfiber thing that takes care of dust perfectly and leaves no marks behind on the speaker surfaces. |
I treat the Black painted finishes of all of my speakers like a fine automotive finish.
I use, and recommend Pinnacle Automotive products. |
What do you folks use on CDs?
