Tonight I finished off the bottle of De Ponte I opened yesterday with dinner - but started off the evening with some of R.L. Seale's 10 year rum

From what I've gathered, thus far, V, you appear to be the (un)official AA bartender! I've always enjoyed my DiSaronno neat, but I'm up for trying something new...what's a Flaming Dr. P?

Fill a pint glass about half-way of a lighter beer (light to an amber works well, I like with Dos Equis amber), fill shot glass of 151 and DiSoronno, light shot, drop in beer, chug. It tastes like a Dr. Pepper.

(you can also do without lighting, still tastes like a Dr.P)

As part of our New Year's Eve festivities, we went through a few bottles of our 2006 Hospices de Beaune. This wine is from the annual Christie's charity auction for the 2006 vintage. A group of us bought a half-barrel at the auction, and we hired Jadot to tend and bottle it. We could have gotten a custom label, but the group didn't manage to agree on anything, so this is what we have. It was an enjoyable entree into 2011...
