audio bill,
Thanks for your response. |
Rick - After reviewing what I wrote to describe the sound of the Luxman electronics, I'm afraid that I neglected to mention one of their most significant attributes. It's a smooth and natural musical quality which avoids the more typical electronic characteristics which are common with many other brands of amplification. Again it's not easy to describe the level of musical refinement that Luxman achieves and is best understood if you have the chance to audition their gear for yourself in a familiar system.

Hope this isn't thread-crap, but.... here-goes..... Luxman needs to re-introduce their 3045 amp. I remember hearing them at ProMusica in Urbana, IL. That was a religious experience..... A new 3045 would be as big a reintroduction as the MC-275 reintroduction was for McIntosh.

At what point was the list price for the C-900u changed from $20K to $15K?

Buddy is correct about the lower pricing of Luxman gear being due to their setting up the subsidiary Luxman America to allow for direct US distribution. This change actually took place in March of 2017 according to this article. Btw I purchased the C-900u a few years ago when it was $20K but the M-900u recently at $15K, so I guess I benefited on a DCA (Dollar Cost Averaging) basis. :D

Thanks to both of you for the information. I sent an email to the distributor to find the closet dealer to me.
|
Unfortunately, the distributor hasn't responded to my email. Does anyone have their number? Has anyone compared the C-1000F to the C-900u?
