That must be dust on the heads since they eliminated the "metal flake" on the new Diamonds.

That is a very nice looking set-up. What did you think of the sound?

From my limited experience with these gears (~30 min), they sounded non-fatiguing, smooth, fast, and deep. The sound emanated from behind the speakers. I couldn't hear the speakers themselves. Better than the last generation 802D I auditioned before. But these two system were in different rooms.

I still like my Guarneri Memento better for the types of music I listen to (vocal, Jazz, violin, cello, etc). The GM sounds more organic, less metallic. But they aren't as fast and don't go as deep.

The sales person said the 802 Diamond beats the last generation 800D hands down, for cheaper price. I won't know until I audition them side by side, which is very unlikely.
