Sonus Faber Speakers

I love the "Show us your system" thread in the McIntosh forum, and I personally believe Sonus faber deserves such a thread also, so I'll start first....

T-3G,

Yours is one of the most beautiful system here.

I bet that is a heavenly combo... tubes and SF's...

esteban 02-02-2011 04:54 PM

Great idea, and beautiful photography, T3G.

First time posting images here... Let's see if this works... The only two images I have (so far) of my recently purchased Toy Towers...

estaban Welcome to AA

esteban 02-02-2011 06:13 PM

Thanks, Ivan. Glad to be here and even more glad to own my first pair of Sonus Fabers, which I dreamed of ever since I saw a pair of the original Grand Pianos back when I was living in Argentina, about 12 years ago... (I'm another Floridian, by the way...).

Thanks again for the welcome.

A lot of them are movies, yes. I am an avid cinephile as well. Most of the CD collection is not visible in the pictures, and about 75% of it is sadly in my home-country, anxiously waiting to be reunited with its proud owner. I've been in the US for many years, but only recently was I finally able to have "THE room" and the set-up of my dreams. I'm still in the process of tweaking things here and there while I look for a quality integrated amp with a "home theater pass through" option (for 2 channel listening sessions only) to complement my Marantz receiver (right now, I'm almost 100% sold on a Musical Fidelity M6i). In the meantime, I'm bringing the music collection over from Argentina little by little; 40 CD's here, 60 there... mostly thanks to friends and relatives who come and visit me from time to time. Not an easy task when you have more than 2,000 CD's...

Bill (metaphacts), from Sumiko, was good enough to pay me a visit to voice my speakers. The before and after was night and day! Although the actual positions didn't move dramatically (approx. 5 inches by 3 inches). The speakers are now about 9 feet apart, toed in towards my ears (9.5 feet away).

Bill is well known for his amazing ability to get the best out of a voicing session. The room is so evenly pressurized and musical it's scary. :music:

I have to agree! I don't hear speakers in that room, I hear and see the artists playing music. From top to bottom, it's seamless. First setup in 10 years to give me goosebumps. My dream speaker and setup for sure. Well done Bill and Reg :music:.

Wow! That makes it that much more impressive. From what I can see, it looks brand new in the photo.

Your system pics look great, I'll bet it sounds terrific.

Gorgeous set-up, Clean! Nice rack too - may I ask what brand is your rack? Looks like it's custom made!

David.......I know you prefer the Elipsa, but I much prefer the appearance of the Amati Anniversario.

The Amati's are a beautiful looking speaker however you need a large space or they will couple with the walls and sound very boomy. Here are a few more with the Elipsa's.

Uberbrown 02-03-2011 04:15 PM

Dave, I was looking at this photo the other day just to oogle the Amati Anni speakers. I think they are the best looking speaker made!
