New Audioquest speaker wires.... "Mythical" series.
New AQ speaker wires have been introduced, they call it the "Mythical Series". Apparently, Thunderbird, Firebird, and Dragon.
Looks similar externally to the Tree Series, but the internals look different. My guess is more shielding, the new DBS 72v unit, but looks to be less complicated in terms of a wire geometry. Does not appear to have differing gauge wires, looks to be a double star quad geometry, which makes me wonder why they chose this geometry when their Tree series is a Counterspiral geometry.... their Flat Rock series is double star quad, which is lower than the Tree. I wonder if it's more hype than substance. Either way, I ain't moving from my Tree series WEL. |

Looks like my Oak's not getting any competition and I'm still looking for used Redwood or better.
|
I agree, the Oaks on my main system will definitely remain. But I may look into these for my new system which doesn't have speaker cables yet. I was actually waiting on these to at least consider them as options
|
You should buy my Wels... hahah
|
In a few to several months I'd expect there to be some good Redwood/Wild deals cropping up, as dealers dump existing demos/stock and owners upgrade.
It'll be interesting to see if these can generate the same buzz as the power cords did - that's going to be tough to match. |
